What to expect

The intro flight consists of about 1 hour on the ground and 45 minutes to an hour in the air, depending on how long it takes to depart.

The ground time gives you an opportunity to ask any questions while we show you how to preflight the aircraft, then it’s onto the flight!

Then you go fly!! You’ll have a chance to fly the airplane 90% of the time as you soar over the ocean. Of course your instructor is right there with you and will handle the take off and landing.
On the day of your flight
The flight will depart from Montgomery Field Airport. You can type in “ChanceToFly” in your Google or Apple Maps to pull us up. There is free parking in front of the Executive Airpark Building. Once you arrive, you will meet your instructor at the cement benches to the left side (north side) of the building. He/she will escort you to the plane. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like, as we would love to help you further your aviation goals!
You will be shown around the aircraft and given an introductory preflight lesson. Afterwards you’ll go for about a 1 hour flight either over the ocean, east over El Capitan Reservoir, or north towards Lake Hodges. All of which is an amazing way to experience San Diego from the air.

Nope! Your instructor will have all headsets and equipment needed for the flight.

Yes of course! All that we ask is that you let us know the weight of both yourself and the other passenger so that we can ensure the flight will be within limits.

Depends. In the summer I recommend wearing something light because it can be hot in the aircraft and there is no A/C. However, there is a heater on board, so just let your instructor know so we can adjust it for you.

In the event there is cloudy weather or a storm of any kind we will need to reschedule the flight.

If you plan on bringing a friend, we will need to confirm that the combined weight between the two of you is less than 340lbs.
